Novena Prayers to the Canadian Martyrs

For Those Hurt by Residential Schools

Many little Indigenous children were badly hurt by the Church and by the Federal Government in the Residential School system.  We settlers tried to force them to become like us.  In the process, we took away their culture, their language, their spirituality, their family life, and their self-esteem.  We repent and we seek reconciliation.

Join us in a Novena (9 days of prayer) to the Canadian Martyrs praying that our repentance be sincere, our conversion be genuine, and real reconciliation happen.

Below you will find the downloadable Novena Prayers for each day.

Day 1 - Let the Little Children Come to Me

Day 2 - And the People Escaped

Day 3 - Those who love God must love their brothers and sisters

Day 4 - I was sick, and you took care of me

Day 5 - Love endures all things

Day 6 - You do not realize that you are blind

Day 7 - They learned the language of the people

Day 8 - They left everything and followed Jesus

Day 9 - The promise is for you and your children
