St. Agnes (M)

January 21, 2030

Event Series Event Series (See All)

St. Agnes (c. 291–304) is a Christian martyr and one of the most beloved saints of the early Church. Born into a noble family in Rome, she dedicated her life to Christ and vowed to remain a virgin. At a young age, she was arrested during the persecution of Christians under Emperor Diocletian. Despite facing intense pressure to renounce her faith and marry a pagan, Agnes remained steadfast and was ultimately executed. Her purity, faith, and courage in the face of death have made her a symbol of innocence and devotion. St. Agnes’ feast day is celebrated on January 21.

The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) has decreed that this is a Holy Day of Memorial to be observed in Canada.
