The Shrine is now open as of May 15th 2010

DSC01472We reopened this summer on Saturday, May 15, 2010. Before you visit please note the mass schedule and our pilgrimage schedule.  Once you are on site please do call in at our Administrative Office if you have any questions.

 
THE SHRINE CAFE

Be sure to check with us at (705) 526-3788 for all your food and beverage needs while you or your group are at the Shrine.  If you would like to know what is served at the Cafe then click on the Shrine Cafe link to the left and you will see our latest menu for the 2010 season.  If you and your group would like something not on our regular menu then do not hesitate to touch base with our chef to see what can be arranged.

 
NEW PRODUCTS

Once again this year we are offering our pilgrims the opportunity to purchase a special Shrine calendar. The thirteen month calendar is beautifully decorated with pictures of the Shrine grounds and various pilgrimages. It sells for only $10 (tax is included).

Our interactive Educational CD is available for purchase. The price for the CD is $15 (tax is included). It contains a wealth of information about the Canadian Martyrs and the Huron peoples they came to serve. The CD also contains lesson plans and suggested activities for use in the classroom.

Our Shrine video is also be available for purchase through the Shrine gift shop priced at $15 (tax included). The run time of the video is 25 minutes. The video highlights the lives and times of the Canadain Martyrs and how their lives and actions still impact our lives toda

 
THE MARTYRS’ FEAST DAY

DSC01467The feast day of the Canadian Martyrs will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010. There will be a special mass held at 2:00 p.m. in the Shrine Church. The celebrant and homilist for the mass this year will be Auxiliary Bishop Boissoneau of the Archdiocese of Toronto.  This event will be followed by light refreshments in the Filion Centre.

 
WALK WHERE THEY WALKED

20_800x600During the months of May, June, September and October the Shrine will be hosting a variety of schools on the program called Walk Where They Walked. The program is either a full morning or afternoon here at the Shrine. During their time with us they will have a number of talks on the lives of the Martyrs. They will view the new Shrine video and will have an indepth tour of the Shrine Church and grounds.

 
ROSARY SUNDAY

IMG_4420This year's Rosary Sunday will be held on Sunday, September 19th, 2010. Our celebration begins with a 12:00 noon mass at the Polish Altar.  The principal celebrant for this year's event is Bishop Peter Hundt of the Northern Region of the Archdiocese of Toronto.  It is this event's 26th anniversary! 

The procession of the Blessed Sacrament and the statue of Our Lady of Fatima will begin at 2:00 p.m. The Fourth Degree assembly of the Knights will form an honour guard to lead the procession. Several Catholic Women's Leagues and many other participants will also take part in the procession.
